Supporting The Shepherd Centre

Our team of consultants recently prepared parking and traffic studies to accompany the Development Application of the new Shepherd Centre in Campbelltown. The proposed centre will include five therapy rooms with the capacity of conducting 20 one-on-one sessions per day. We are proud to support this worthwhile charity organisation.

The Shepherd Centre assists children with hearing loss to develop spoken language and be fully integrated into society. The organisation is known for its ground-breaking Early Intervention Program, which “focuses on training parents to seize every opportunity in day-to-day life to teach their child to listen and speak”, according to the centre’s 2017 Impact Report. Each year, the organisation supports more than 500 families from NSW, ACT, Tasmania and remote areas. The services are provided in one of the five centres or through their teleintervention program.

The Shepherd Centre 2018 Tax Appeal features the story of Mikayla Mooney, a three-year-old Menangle Park resident who has moderate to mild hearing loss in both ears. According to Mikayla’s mother, Sonia Young, the child speech has been improving significantly as a result of the work done at The Shepherd Centre.
