Courtesy of Paul Barter, we have received a link to an article published in ACCESS magazine (published by the University of California Transportation Center) regarding on-street parking for shared cars.
Penned by academic Andrea Osgood from her research at UCLA, the article explores car sharing, the benefits of placing dedicated parking spaces for the companies managing car sharing schemes on the public streets, and the need to design a strong urban planning policy to ensure the public realises a return from the use of these spaces.
Providing several case studies of successful parking policy from the US and Canada, it’s a strong piece of research and a good resource for understanding more about the benefits of car sharing.
