A recent stoush between the iconic Gold Coast meter maids and the Gold Coast City Council this week was resolved, with these ladies set to continue feeding expired parking meters along the streets of Surfers Paradise.
The row erupted after the Meter Maids were ordered to stop selling merchandise such as calendars and stubby holders on the streets because of anti-touting laws. After a meeting with Council officers the Meter Maids had been advised to apply for funds from organisations including Gold Coast Tourism, which are given significant support by Council.
