After a decade of careful planning to preserve one of Sydney’s most beloved landmarks, the renewed Bondi Pavilion reopened its doors in late 2022. This $48 million renovation and conservation works have transformed the historic beachfront building into a modern community hub, complete with a 5-Star Green Star design rating and thoughtful recognition of the First Nations people of the region. The project represents a significant achievement in balancing heritage preservation with contemporary sustainability standards.
ptc. worked closely with Waverley Council, TZG Architects, and the construction team from the initial planning stages through to completion. Our involvement began with a feasibility study and concept design options that addressed the unique challenges of this high-traffic beachfront location.
We prepared detailed documentation including a Traffic Impact Assessment, Construction Pedestrian and Traffic Management Plan (CTMP), and loading vehicle operational plan, ensuring smooth operations during both construction and operational phases. Our team’s expertise in swept path analysis were crucial to manage the challenging site conditions, where pedestrian safety and vehicular access needed careful coordination.
