This month’s Parking Professional magazine, published
by the International Parking Institute, includes a four-page spread on the
groundbreaking parking garage at 1111 Lincoln Road, Miami.
From our perspective, we are impressed at the way the
garage is commanding the attention of the artistic elite in Miami, as a venue
for weddings and as an art piece in itself, towering over the Miami skyline.
According to the Parking Professional, the seventh floor of the garage was
designed to accommodate special events—weddings, film premieres, photography
shoots— its barriers are mobile, to slide into and out of different configurations
(including one to simply park cars) depending on the need.
From an operational point of view, the garage has also
become the parking destination of choice among Miami’s elite, who nestle their
Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches between its concrete pillars, happily
paying nearly three times the rate of nearby municipal car parks.
The garage at 1111 Lincoln Road, Miami, is truly a
groundbreaking structure and concept for our industry, and goes to show that
innovation and creative thinking can prove wildly successful. Read the article in full (courtesy of the IPI) here.
