Located near the Blue Mountains region, this significant $1 billion hospital redevelopment in Kingswood represents a major expansion of critical healthcare infrastructure. The Nepean Hospital redevelopment project was strategically divided into two stages, with Stage 1 featuring a 14-storey clinical tower and a multi-storey car park providing approximately 700 spaces to support the main hospital’s expansion. Stage 2 construction commenced in February 2023, continuing this transformative healthcare development that serves the growing western Sydney community.
ptc. has been engaged as an ongoing partner throughout this complex redevelopment, working with multiple stakeholders including NSW Health Infrastructure, contractors, and builders from the Development Applications through to the construction phases. Our multidisciplinary approach has encompassed parking demand studies, hospital campus parking layout design, and operational planning for shuttle bus and loading dock systems.
Our technical expertise has been demonstrated through detailed swept path analysis, extensive traffic modelling, and SIDRA analysis of existing road networks. This included critical assessments of intersections with the Great Western Highway, hospital entrances, roundabouts, footbridges, and nearby street junctions.
Our civil scope of works included the delivery of stormwater design as well as extensive civil engineering documentation for the main access road, including pavement plans, soil erosion and sediment control measures, alignment control, and detailed long and cross-sections.
Finally, our compliance certification has ensured the project meets all regulatory requirements while supporting the hospital’s operational needs.
