Optical illusion used as high-tech speed bump


This week, we came across ‘Pavement Patty’, an innovation
from Canadian traffic safety advocates. ‘Pavement Patty’ is a 3D painting of a
small child playing on the road that appears to the driver to rise from the
pavement as the car approaches. Have a look at the video below to see for
yourself!

Rather than promoting safe driving we expect such an
idea to be the cause of accidents as drivers apply their brakes to avoid
hitting a non existing person!
